An Extraordinary Big Band Event
It’s our unbelievable honor and pleasure to present the most exciting big band on Planet Earth, for their only Eastern
New England appearance on their first tour of the Northeast. Three-time Emmy Award winner and five-time Grammy Award winner
Gordon Goodwin brings the finest studio musicians in the Los Angeles, California, area to this historic venue – find
out more about Gordon and the band at www.gordongoodwin.com.
We hope the entire New England big band community can share in this extraordinary opportunity with us.
Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band in Concert
The concert begins at 7:30pm. The Compaq Big Band will be the opening act, performing for approximately 25 minutes (with Gordon
Goodwin likely sitting in for one of his charts). Then the Big Phat Band will go on for one set of approximately 60 to 90
minutes.

Instrumental Performance Clinics
As exciting as the concert and reception will be, there is even more terrific news for high school and college jazz musicians,
as well adult big band enthusiasts. Members of the Big Phat Band will present 1-hour instrumental performance clinics at
2:00pm on June 3rd as follows:
Trumpet: Wayne Bergeron
Saxophone & Clarinet: Eric Marienthal
Trombone: Andy Martin
Rhythm: Gordon Goodwin on piano, together with his bassist and drummer for this tour
The above clinics will run simultaneously. The rhythm section clinic will be held at the Palace Theatre, and the horn clinics
will be held at the Manchester Community Music School located at 2991 Elm Street< /st1:address> in Manchester (www.mcmusicschool.org).
---------------------
Jazz Arranging Clinic with Gordon Goodwin
But wait - there’s even more! Gordon Goodwin will also be conducting a separate 1-hour arranging clinic at 3:30pm that
afternoon, using the Compaq Big Band, handouts, and PowerPoint slides to give attendees an unprecedented view into his composing
and arranging. There is adequate travel time allotted for those that want to attend both a horn clinic at the Manchester
Community Music School and the arranging clinic at The Palace Theatre.
