Johnson Hall - Gardiner, Maine

JOHNSON HALL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER is a nonprofit organization presenting a wide range of programs in historic Johnson Hall Opera House in downtown Gardiner, Maine. The renovated first floor performance space seats 110 and is flexible for many purposes-from plays and concerts to classes, workshops, arts camps, and meetings. We produce events and programs, and also rent the hall to other groups for events and private parties. Johnson Hall collaborates on arts programs in the schools, at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Gardiner, and at the Gardiner Public Library. Plans are moving forward to restore the entire building, including lobby and dressing rooms on the second floor, and a 400-seat theater on the third floor. Martin Swinger - Songwriter

Martin Swinger focuses 40 years of entertainment and teaching experience into his performances of original, traditional and contemporary folk music, swing and jazz standards, children’s music performances and workshops, improvisational singing circles, Sing-Around-the-Campfire, festival performances and emceeing. Monica Grabin - Singing History for the Classroom


Monica Palmes Grabin has been performing for all kinds of audiences since she was a girl in the sixties. Her repertoire includes literally hundreds of songs. She accompanies herself on guitar, banjo, and autoharp, with anecdotes about origins of instruments, the physics of sound, anything that might come to mind. Performances are interactive, and a lot of fun!

SINGING HISTORY IS NOT JUST FOR KIDS!
Libraries, historical societies, adult education courses, high schools, colleges, senior centers, and museums have used Singing History programs for adult audiences. Singing History can be used to highlight an exhibit, focus on a social, geographical or historical subject, celebrate an anniversary or just provide a concert by an accomplished and invigorating entertainer. Family audiences can enjoy programs which give kids and parents a chance to share songs which will be meaningful for a lifetime.

Jackson Gillman - Stand-up Chameleon

With performances for groups large or small, of all age ranges, Jackson incorporates comedy, drama, music, dance, mime, and sign language into his own intimate style of theatre. More than 27 years in the business of speaking and performing have given Jackson an enormous amount of material on which to draw as he customizes an engaging program for any event.

Jackson believes that humor can enliven and enlighten any group, meeting, or gathering, and his is based on a foundation of beneficence, hope, and a belief in the enduring power of the human spirit.
