Student Opportunities
From Bay Chamber Concerts:
- The Next Generation Youth Chamber Music Program offers young musicians, ages 10 -17, the opportunity to study chamber music under the direction of professional chamber musicians. All levels of ability will be welcomed to the program on a first come, first serve basis with total enrollment limited to 7 ensembles, three of which may include piano. Participants must provide their own housing. All students must bring their lunch each day. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Program is offered in Rockport, July 19 – 23. Young Stars of Maine Prize Auditions (deadline April 16). Each year Bay Chamber awards prizes to young Maine musicians. This year we have expanded to eight $1,000 prizes, the newest of which, the Eleanor Erdman and Diane Nixon Vocal Excellence Prize, recognizes a vocal soloist.

Prize winners receive a $1,000 cash prize and a performance on Friday, July 9, 2010
- Every Columbus Day weekend since 2001, 50 adult amateurs from around the country have come to Rockport to work with members of the Muir Quartet and friends, under the artistic direction of cellist Michael Reynolds. This year's coaches will include violinist Peter Zazofsky, violinist Bayla Keyes, violist Maria Lambros and pianist Cary Lewis. Applications are due by May 15.
